Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information RhymeSeekr (“we,” “us,” or the “Site”) does and does not collect when you use rhymeseekr.com.
The Short Version
RhymeSeekr is a free, static website with no user accounts, no sign-up, and no newsletter. We do not collect personal information from you directly. When you run a search, your browser sends that search to third-party word and definition services so they can return results. The Site displays advertising provided by Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where required by law, you will be asked to give or deny consent before personalized advertising is shown.
Information We Collect Directly
None. RhymeSeekr has no sign-up, login, newsletter, comment form, or contact form. We do not operate our own analytics or tracking infrastructure, and we do not sell or rent any data about you.
Information Shared with Third Parties When You Use the Site
Because RhymeSeekr runs entirely in your browser and relies on free public APIs to look up words, some information is necessarily sent to third parties when you use the Site:
- Your search term and IP address are sent to Datamuse (api.datamuse.com) so it can return rhymes, synonyms, and related words.
- The word you open for details and your IP address are sent to the Free Dictionary API (api.dictionaryapi.dev) so it can return definitions and pronunciations.
- Your IP address and basic browser information are sent to Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) when the Site loads its typeface.
- Your IP address, browser information, and ad-interaction signals are sent to Google and its advertising partners through Google AdSense so that ads can be shown, measured, and (where you have consented) personalized. See the Advertising section below for details.
These third parties operate their own services under their own privacy policies. We do not control what they do with the data they receive. If you are concerned about this, you can review their policies directly, block the relevant domains in your browser, or simply avoid using the Site.
Advertising
RhymeSeekr displays ads through Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites, to measure ad performance, and to prevent fraud and abuse.

RhymeSeekr does not set cookies of its own, and we do not use browser local storage to store personal data. Children’s Privacy
RhymeSeekr is suitable for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Advertising shown on the Site is not targeted to children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your California and Similar U.S. State Rights
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states have rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because RhymeSeekr does not collect personal information directly and does not sell personal information in the traditional sense, many of these rights have limited application here. However, the “sharing” of data for cross-context behavioral advertising through Google AdSense may fall within these laws. You can limit personalized advertising by using the consent tool on this Site, by opting out through Google Ads Settings, and by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which this Site honors where technically feasible.
Logs
Our hosting provider may automatically log standard request information (such as IP addresses, timestamps, the page requested, and user-agent strings) for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes. We do not link these logs to any personal identity and do not use them for advertising.
Your Choices
You can use RhymeSeekr without providing any personal information directly. If you want to limit what third parties receive when you use the Site, you can:
- Decline personalized advertising in the consent prompt (where offered), so you see only non-personalized ads.
- Adjust personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.
- Use a VPN or other tool to mask your IP address.
- Use a privacy-focused browser, tracking-prevention setting, or ad blocker.
- Stop using the Site.
